Flowers and things part 2

The last of my shots from the other days wander.  Didnt get anything much yesterday, I spent a fair bit of time in the heat doing the gardens, then had 2 long walks.

I did get a few random pics, but I dont have time to get them off the camera today, so it'll be tomorrow for those.

The shots here all off a Canon 6d2 and various lens (Tamron 28-300, Canon 24-85- and Canon 20-35)  The rooster is a hell of a crop.

GP's say they'll bring the NHS to it's knees!

Todays headline in the paper.  GP's say they'll bring the NHS to it's knees!

Really?  Clearly they havent used the NHS for some time.  It's neem on it's knees for decades.  These are the GP's who have been hiding in bunkers since covid gave them an excuse to avoid doing any work.

I really wonder if the half a dozen or so patients they speak to on the phone every week will notice the lact of a GP.  After all getting an appointment is like getting an audience with God...  Only harder!

Simple answer.  If they strike stop paying them and make it a condition they must work 5 days a week, and they must see at least 20 patients a day in person if they want to keep their jobs.

Oh joy, another blissfull day!

Yep, another great day at waynesworldblog global headquarters here in Wales.  Go out this morning and find my cars fuel on zero miles, luckly it got me to the garage, the electrics are crap, so one day it says 77 miles, the next day after a 5 mile drive it says 0 miles. POS!

Then it's a trip to casualty, where a nurse drew on my foot with a sharpie pen.... dont ask.  Then 2 trips to my doctors surgery, well one so far, I have to go back later.

Yep another day in paradise......    I wish!

Skull mvement

I was trying for a moving effect, but it's not quite right.  Might have another go tomorrow.  Still I quite like it.

Donald Trump shot in the ear.

Ex president Donald Trump nearly died yesterday after being shot by a sniper on a rooftop, he was hit in the ear, and then took cover.  Luckly he wasnt badly hurt, a few inches to one side and he'd be dead..

First how did a sniper get on a rooftop in range with a weapon?  The secret service supposedly keep several rings of security around the VIP, this includes securing rooftops in range and counter snipers.

Second, their reaction to the shots fired was quite slow, Trump ducked down into cover long before his bodyguards arrived.

Third the secret service has a bullet shield carried near the VIP, I didnt see this used after the shooting, why not?  They may well have been more thaan one shooter.

The press are reporting Trump fell down after being shot, no he didnt, he ducked down the same as any other sane person would if they were being shot at.  make yourself a smaller target.

To be honest the secret service really shouldnt have been caught with their trousers down (mind they have previous)  I have been expecting someone to have a go at Trump for months, I've even told my friends.  It's been quite obvious that someone with real power doesnt want Trump to be the next president.

Look at the dodgy trial nonsense he's had, once that started to go his way I said they'll try bumping him off next.  And supprise supprise, now they have.

My guess is that whoever is really pulling the strings wants someone they can control, thats not Trump IMHO, he's his own man.  Biden on the other hand.... well look at what he said to the press "I'd better not answer any questions, I'll get in trouble"  Get in trouble?  He's the president FFS, who is he going to get in trouble with his boss?, no wait he is the boss, or supposed to be.

Now as a Brit, I'm not affected really by whoever wins, I dont have a dog in that fight as we say, that said who would I prefer to win?  Well I'd sleep happier if the man with the nuclear codes could remember peoples names and not be afraid of getting in trouble....

Whoever wins the US needs to sort out the election shambles that we've seen this year, it's not inspiring confidence in my my part of the world seeing what looks like "fiddling" going on over this election, the weaponising of the courts for one.

Good luck to whoever wins...  Maybe the secret service should get some British help guarding the VIP's.... we havent lost a prime minister since 1812....     You've lost Lincoln, Garfield, Mckinley and Kennedy, plus nearlry lost Jackson, Reagan, Roosevelt and Trump........

Oh joy, now my bloody car is having a hissy fit!

Went out this morning to get shopping and find my car wont start.  The battery is low and being  diesel it needs a ton of power to start.  The problem is I dont use it much, other than shopping and important stuff I mostly walk (I enjoy it) so it hasnt had a good run to charge it up in ages.

Being a Ford and having Fords famous electrical "issues" the battery runs down over a week or so, it's not the battery, It's only 2 years old I think.

Luckly I have a charger, still it's a PITA.

Pretty fed up

 .

Yes I'm pretty fed up at the moment.  havent felt 100% for a few days, very tired and run down, and hurting a lot (old age is fun) so not my usual happy self.

I really could do with a proper break to be honest, I know I've said this before and nother happens, but thats my life.  When I have the money for a holiday I dont have the time, and when I have the time... well I dont have the money.

Trouble is I get worn down by one thing or another.  I do have a gap in my diary in August, so if the weather plays ball I mught try and do my round Gower walk.  Been planning to do it for decades, if I leave it much longer I wont be able to do it.

The plan is to blag a lift to Whiteford point, and walk from there to Mumbles, camping a few nights on the way.  Obviously I'd take a camera, and do a video for youtube.  I figure 2 or 3 nights out should do it.

To be fair I've walked most of it before in various stages, so I know most of the ground, water is the biggest issue, it's heavy to carry.  In the past I've had water from all sorts of places, including sheep troughs, I'm still here and suffered no ill effects, you just have to be carefull.  Problem is it's years since I've done much of the path, I dont know how many sheep troughs are still about.

Age limit on aircraft?

There are lots of older aircraft flying, but should there be a limit?  This week another oldie crashed killing 3 people.  The aircraft a 66 year old Cessna .

Now if I bought a 66 year old car, I'd expect issues, the engine is tired, theres going to be rust, etc etc.  None of these things is too big a deal.  If I break down I wait for the AA.  Slightly different with a plane!

If I break down with that.... Well it's problem time, I either get lucky and land, or I die.  Ok I know an aircraft is well maintained, at least compared to a car, but heck, shit still happens!  Things get old and break.  Thats without the odd tightwad who skimps on repairs or is a DIY bodger (like me).

Maybe there really should be an age limit for aircraft, ok exemptions for airshows where the planes could have a special inspection and certificate, but for Joe Blogs flying around?   After all if it goes wrong, it's not just Joe, theres people under him on the ground who might get killed.

Theres a lot of ways to die, getting killed by some twit flying a museum piece aircraft held together by string and bluetac isnt the way I want to go though.

Camera gear update

We after sorting out the bag and using it yesterday, I thought I'd update you.  Taking out about a kilo of batteries and a sigma 105mm macro lens did help.  Sadly not enough, by the time I got home I could hardly walk..

Normally my fist job after getting home is back up the days pics on the computer and back up drives, then charge batteries.  Yesterday it was take some co-codamol pain killers... then back up the days shoot and battry charge.

Today I'm still buggered, I'm limping and my back is still in bits.  I really am going to have to blitz the bag, and remove everything I can manage without.  I dont really have a choice, I cant go on carrying this lot, it's bloody silly.

Some of you may be wondering why my first job is to back up pics and charge battreies?  Well it comes from my press days, always keep your camera ready to shoot, fresh film or card and charged flash (I used rechargable flash battries back then)  You never knew when you'd get a shout and need to dash off and shoot something.  Then you'd look a right nugget if you had no film in the camera or your barttry was flat.

It was the same in the military, always sort your weapons out first then you.  It's just a habit I still have, even though it's a long time since I shoot any press stuff, and most likely wont in the future unless something lands in my lap.  I just like to be ready.

Well I'm going to limp off shopping now... Oh joy, and I so love shooping... No I bloody dont!

A few people shots

A few people shots from yesterday, the one with movement is a big crop as well, and hand held long exposure.  Canon 5d3 and Sigma 24-105 art lens.
