The Apprentice 2023

The Apprentice tv series is now in it's fourth week.  Don't worry if you missed any, just watch the first few from last year, as the candidates are clones every year you'll not notice the difference.

The series now in it's 17th year, sadly it's not better, indeed it's a shadow of it's former self.  The candidates are the same tired, bored clones they have every year, so-called business people, yet incapable of basic maths or English.  Unable to work out hard questions like how much is 45x400 on paper (it's 18.000 ) Last year they couldn't spell Arctic, yeah real tough questions!

Lord Sugar has lost his fire, he used to be brilliant, really sharp and cutting, now it's tired old jokes and the "with regret your fired".  Why regret?  They were crap!

Part of the problem is the BBC is more concerned about it being entertainment, than actually picking business people, thats why you get so many joking candidates now.  Just check out an early series to see the difference.  Back then pretty much any would have made a business partner.  Now theres about 3 or 4 actually real candidates, the rest are filler, padding, canon fodder for sacking.

Lord Sugar probably know which one of the 3 or 4 he'll most likely hire before the series starts, he can get a good idea from the business plans.  It's not fixed, one will go on to become a business start up chance, it's just padded to make the series "better viewing"... Thats a matter of opinion, not mine anyway.

Missing 411 the UFO connection 2022 review

Mising 411 the UFO connection is a documentary film by  David Paulides (the missing 411 author) the film looks into the connection between missing people and UFO's.

The film is a series of interviews and some location footage.  Some of the stories are very courious, and there does seem to be a link between some of the missing people, and some UFO sightings.

The film is a supprisingly good watch, quite interesting even if your not a UFO believer... you might be after watching this.

Waynes rating 7.5 out of 10.  Well worth a watch

Colour and black and white, last of this batch

Well these are the last of this batch... sadly.  Trouble is I get very little time, and I'm having lots to do around the house too, so I'm struggling to get time to go out shooting these days.  Going to try and get out today for an hour if I can.... Fingers crossed for more pics soon.

The black and white has the red filter treatment, hence the black sky.

Sofirn SP10 pro torch review

The Sofirn SP10 pro is another little gem of a torch.  Ideal for an everyday carry.

The torch is smallish, at about 85mm or 3.5 inch long, and around 20mm .75 inch thick, while it will go on a keyring like the Lumintop tool AA I reviewed recently it's a bit bigger than something like the olight I3eos, or the Thrunite TI3, mind this is a LOT more light for not a lot more size.

Like the Lumintop this torch will use AA or 14500 batteries (hence the output)

 Light levels AA 1lm 60 hours, 10lm 9hours, 30lm 13 hours 12minutes, 130lm 1 hour 48 minutes, 350lm 1 hour 9 minutes.

 For a 14500 battery. 1lm122 hours, 10lm 26 hours, 70lm 9 hours 45 minutes, 280lm 2 hours 22 minutes, 900lm 1 hour 55 minutes.

900lm, thats a huge amount of  light for something this size.  The torch has a choice of ramping or stepped light levels, and runs Andural 2 software, this means it's essentially programable (although a tad complicated to do) you can change brightness levels in the stepped mode, alter the strobe options, even ajust step down temp, although I suggest thats best left at factory settings.

The torch will tail stand and does have an electronic lock out function, a good thing with 900lm on tap if you dont want a melted pocket.  A big plus is it runs off normal 14500 or AA batteries so any off the shelf ones will do, and odly it comes with a proper charger that will charge 18650 as well, I'm guessing it's a standard charger, handy though.

Heres a picture with a AA battery for scale.  When I get time I'll do a comparrison with the Lumintop tool as they are near as makes no difference the same size and use the same batteries.

Aviation news

Worrying new trend.   Comercial aircraft do sometimes suffer a cracked windscreen, theres usually a few a year reported, whilst a risk the windows are armoured glass, similarish to bullitproof glass.  The worrying part is over the last few weeks theres been about 20+ reported cases, thats a HUGE spike in numbers.

While the crack on it's own isn't too bad, the real risk is if the crack is around the screws holding the window in, windows have blown out under pressure, and in one case a crew member was sucked half out the window.  He was lucky, he survived, the plane was near the airport and landed quickly.  If it happens way out over the ocean there could be a problem.

I dont know if this is caused by a fauty batch of windows, poor maintenance or other factors, but it needs to be sorted out before a plane comes down with loos of life.

I have no idea what the hell this is about but I came across this yesterday.  So naturally I took a picture.
