Wuhan coronavirus spreading... not supprisied

Well the UK NHS is worried about the spread of the coronavirus, and it should be. But it's being made MUCH worse by the total lack of care and infection contral of the NHS itself.
This week I spent the best part of two days in various hospitals and surgeries. What have I learned?
Well the hospital does ask patients of they have been to Italy on arrivial, although neither I my son or brother were asked any questions. Not to mention the virus is in other countires as well as Italy.
Then theres casualty. 6 to 8 hours in a small crammed waiting room with half the people in there coughing over the other half. No attempt to seperate them, no attempt to give them masks, not even advising them to cover the mouths when coughing.
Next up we have the staff (some coughing) they went around the bloody waiting room checking blood pressure and patients sats (oxygen levels) they did this by going from patient to patient without washing hands or cleaning the equipmen between them. Great way to spread infection.
Nearly as bad was seeing a paramedic use the toilet and not bother washing his hands after, FFS thats basic stuff.  How the hell do they expect to stop the spread of a virus if they cant even bloody wash their hands in a sodding hospital!
Seriously the NHS need to learn basic infection control, and actually practice it.
It would be hard to think of a better way to spread a virus then have hospitals behave like this. makes you wonder what their agenda is.

Primrose

What with the weather, family issues and time I've not had much shooting recently, spotted this primrose in the garden. Couldn't be arsed to dig out the macro kit and my proper cameras, so used my old camera and the walking around long range zoom (18-250mm) only took a few pics as this didnt really grab me.
Just cropped and resized in photoshop.

Computer AI (artificial intelligence)

I keep hearing about computer AI... artificial intelligence.  How it's going to take over the world and destroy mankind when the computers realise they dont need us.
Yeah right, lets face it computers are so dumb any intelligence would make them worse not better.
Try burning a dvd, how many clicks of the mouse does that take, it's more than you might think.
Delete a file? yes confirm you actually want to delete it, then confirm windooz can delete the file it's added to your file, then you have to go to the recycle box and delete again to finally get of of something (even then it's technially still on your computer).
Plug in a zipdrive, the computer asks if you want to open it, why? why would I plug the fucker in if I didn't want to access the stuff on it?
AI bring it on. Exterminate the human race!.. click yes to confirm, then click yes again, type in a password (twice) then click ok.  Oh yes the computers will take over... when they figure out how to use a mouse and keyboard..

Light bulbs !

Today I changed yet another household light bulb. So much for saving energy.
The bulb claims a life of 15.000 hours (about 1.7 years left on all the time)  Now this is odd. My bedside lamp is on maybe 2 hours a day tops, that works out roughly 20 years with these bulbs... So why am I replacing the bastards every few weeks? Two obvious possibilites, one my house is wired in such a way as to overload the light bulbs, yet not affecting the TV, stero, recorder or computers. Two the claims on the bulb are total bullshit.  Yes guess which one I go for.

Answers on a postcard to honest wayne, C/O home for the criminally insane, totally bonkers road, near barking. Dont forget to include a postal order for £5 to cover my sweet addiction.

Paranormal caught on camera tv series

You have to watch this series, it's just hilarious! Honestly some of the worst acting you'll find outside of Dr Who.
It's a collection of paranormal videos showing all sorts of weird things... well it would be if the quality on most of the clips wasn't so bad. The potato camera seems to be the camera of choice for paranormal photograpers and videographers.
Of course most of the clips are fake, and obviously so, so the bad quality helps hide the strings used to move things around.
Every so often theres a proper clip of something unexplained and real (not many) but the rest are a joke.

Waynes rating 8/10  its so bad it's good

Urn

Well I guess this is an urn, not sure what else to call it to be honest.

Ok more weird stuff happening

The other day I took my old camera out shooting, although old it's still takes a decent quality pic (the trees and abstracts pics I posted recently)  Anyway it's not got the battery grip on it because I took it off to fit an L bracket to use it on a tripod and it wont fit in the really small bag I use if I'm going "light kit".
This morning I go to fit the battery grip back on and problems. The Canon battery grips have a slot for the door of the cameras battery compartment, then if the grips dies you have the original camera door to refit (the battery grip has a bit that sticks up into the cameras parrty compartment to make contact)  For some reason the door wont fit in the slot, never had an issue before, and it's not even a tight fit normally.
WTF is going on! I try a few different ways, but the slot is WAY too small for the bloody battery door. I'm just on the point of giving up and leaving the door loose when the penny drops, wrong fucking battery grip, it's for a smaller version of the camera. This is where I get puzzled, I don't remember taking the grip off the other camera, that lives in a bag of wedding kit, I hardly ever take the grips off either of those two cameras.  Still no biggie, I'll put it back on. Thats when the fun started, the other camera has a bloody grip on it!
What! What! Where the hells the second grip come from? I don't have another of that model yet, and I wouldn't have bought a spare, why would I, the camera still works without it. So I'd just buy another if the first one clapped out.
I have no idea whats going on, still Mr poltergeist if you want to supply me some kit theres a Canon 5dSR I fancy, and a new IDSmk3 whan your ready mate.....

No it's not upside down!

Yes I know this tree looks wrong, but the branches are growing downwards for some reason.

Posts apocalypse....

Yes it's a play on words.  Still most are posts...

Pudsey bear (children in need) original or copied?

We all know Pudsey bear the iconic face of children in need. He first appeared in 1985 created by BBC designer Joanna Ball, he was named after her home town in Yorkshire.  Except I found an earlier version of pusdey, from 1968 in fact from the film twisted nerve staring Hayley Mills and Hywel Bennett. They look suspiciously alike to me.

Lost in the wild... why do I watch this crap?

Lost in the wild, why do I watch this crap?  The answer is so you dont have to!
Episode 6 is the search for a missing runner in the jungle, the problem for me is the whole series is riddled with problems. For example in a previous episode they bed down in a small cave in the jungle supposedly miles form anywhere, yet withing minutes of the male presenter leaving to find firewood with the cameraman (using bright torches) some local men arrive at the cave. Now a few issues, local in jungle areas just dont move around after dark, they didn't have torches, nor it seems did they see the male presenters torch (hard to miss in the dark) So we end up with a big scary moment several men arrive and find the female presenter all alone in their cave. Then with hardly a word they leave. Yeah right.
In this episode we end up in a cave talking to the spirit people, our presenters enter the cave yet despite it being dark fail to notice the smell of burning or the light from 3 wood fires inside the cave. Stecie Wonder would have spotted those.
Another issue right through the series is the clothing. Take this episode for example. They spend seven hours paddling down a jungle river including white water sections, then they spend the night in the jungle sitting around a small fire. Next day their clothes are spotless and dry. First thing your taught in jungle training is keep your dry clothes dry, they are no tumble dryers in the jungle, and no washing machines either. A bit later they climb down a waterfall, five minutes later in the cave they are clean and dry again. Must be amazing clothing.
Then theres the kit they carry, the male presenter has a medium size hard camera backpack, the the female a waterproof smallish backpack. yet whatever kit they need they have, climbing gear and helmets, no problem, wet suits, no problems. The backpacks must be made by the TARDIS company, that of they've nicked Mary Poppins fucking handbag.
Seriously I don't know ahy I watch this stuff, ok it's reall missing person cases but theres so much fake drama and bullshit it's taking away the seriousness of the real missing people and they families lives destroyed by their loved ones disappearances. It's cashing in on their suffering. Thats just plain sad.

Waynes rating 2/10 watch if you want to see two clowns pretending to look for missing people, you won't be much wiser after watching though.

Gower headlands and gorse. black and white

Took this a few weeks ago, and just noticed I missed it in the quick edit I did at the time.
