Waterfall

The weather here at Waynes world global HQ Wales has been crap for a while.  Grim, grey and wet.  Today for a change I actually saw what people are calling the "sun".  So I took this at a local small waterfall.  Canon 7d 35mm lens.  F9 1/15 sec hand held.

Some avaition news

I've mentioned before how incidents accidents seen to have trends, over the last week theres been a rash of wheel and tyre problems with commercial airlines.  None have led to a crash, yet.  But it's courious and makes me wonder if cost cutting may be a factor?

Theres been a few bad helicopter accidents with a number of deaths, and one crash caused by a jacket blowing into the tail roter (the crew were unhurt)  I've mentioned before if your near helicopters be careful not to let any loose objects get sucked into the engines or rotors.  We always removed hats and stuffed them in our jackets near them.  Tail rotors are very easily damaged.

The Grand Tour. The sand job

Back in June I wrote about the last Grand Tour, indeed I called it not so grand.  Well the good news is the Grand Tour is back to it's roots.  As the last show planned they've gone out in just the way I suggested last time.

Theres a saying in entertainment always leave them wanting more, and the boys managed this, the last episode was dismal, but this one is back to the fun and games.

I'm sorry to see Clarksons Hammond and May go, but we've had a good run and sadly, very sadly, nothing lasts forever.  So thanks for the laughs.  Thanks for seeing the amazing places you've been to over the years.  And thanks for all the suffering you've endured making those challenges, the injuries and bumpy roads.

Thanks lads, you've left the fans with memories and some great videos to watch.

GPS users.

A word of caution to those who rely on GPS signal for finding their way about.  GPS "spoofing" is being used in a few places, mostly near combat zones but possible just about anywhere.

This will fool your GPS device into thinking it's somewhere else, not it's actual location.

This probably isnt a big deal if your delivering parcels for Amazon, on the other hand if your off into the wilds of Alaska it could be a very serious problem.

A commercial airliner was spoofed at 34.000 feet and got of all things a ground proximity warning, with the highest mountain at 29.000 feet this is obviously wrong, but still worrying.  If they get the position wrong on landing approach theres a very real risk of hitting a hill somewhere.

A black and white and colour pic

Took these a few days ago.  Been busy and the weathers crap so not much to post.  Might put up a few of the old pics tomorrow if I get time.

Shot on the TZ80 compact.

Going through old photos.

Today while having a big tidy up I went through a few old hard drives.  Lots of old photos and memories.  When I look at the quality of a 6mp camera I have to be impressed.  Ok you cant blow them up much compared to a modern 30 or 40mp camera but they were supprisingly good.

It's odd how a picture will bring back a memory of a place or a person, instantly the day comes back, you can remember the fun... or lack of it that happened, and sometimes wonder what every happened to old so and so who was in the picture?
