Photographers, are you stuck in a rut? Out of ideas for a shot? read on.

Sometimes I'll get asked for idea for something to shoot, a project maybe, or a subject.  It's easy to get stuck in a rut photography wise, many people will only shoot landscapes maybe, and sooner or later they'll run out of ideas.  Well here's a few suggestions.
First trick is try shooting a different time of day, if you always shoot sunsets go for a sunrise, if you tend to shoot during the daylight hours go night shooting, yes a tripod will help a lot but you might be surprised what you can get shooting after dark.
The next trick only works if you have some money spare, buy yourself a new lens, not just a better one of what you already have but a type of lens you don't own, maybe a very very long telephoto lens, or a macro (proper macro lens I mean not just a zoom with the word macro written on it) and start shooting bugs and tiny details of things.
Set yourself a project, with a goal.  Say to yourself I'm going to produce a 20 photograph set of something, then pick a subject, preferably something you don't normally shoot!
Here's some ideas to get you going.
Glass (harder than it sounds)
Leaves (remember there's different types and the light shines through them)
People at work
Lights (again harder than it sounds, there's light trails, traffic lights tons of idea there)
Low light.
Urban decay
Movement (this could be freezing or blurring moving objects)
Time (another tricky one)
Life and death (use your common sense here, nothing too tactless)
Texture ( a fairly easy one, remember it's not just stone that has texture, so does cloth and skin)
Shapes (this can be parts of something, even shadows have a shape)
Colours (again it's harder than it sounds, you want colour that makes sense, not just 20 different blobs off a dulux shade card)

The trick with any or all of these is to get fired up and challenged, and above all have fun.
