Theres been speculation for decades as to why Her Majesty the Queen carries a handbag yet never uses money or goes into the bag, well now we know ther real reason!
For as long as I can remember the Queens carried a handbag. The bag of choice in a Launer, it's thought she has over 200.
Her security will claim it's a signal, if she moves it from her left arm to the right it means her handler will move her on and end a conversation. Putting the bag down means she uncomfortable with the situation and needs rescuing from it. Putting the bag on a table means she wants the event finished in 5 minutes.
Now we know the real reason is she carries a marmalade sandwich in it as she shows in a video with Paddington the bear, himself no starnger to a marmalade sandwhich. Will Paddington now buy a Launer handbag and use that instead of his hat??? Time will tell but my guess is no, not with the bags selling for up to £2.000 or more, I think thats outside Paddingtons budget.
