Platinum Jubilee money well spent??

Yesterday was the first of a four day celebration in honour of our Queen reaching seventy years of reign.  Was it money well spent?  I doubt it.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has said he put aside twenty eight million pounds of tax payers money, although the total cost has been stated by others as much as over four hundred million, and thats without the lost revenue due to business being closed, thats likely to cost billions.

You see while our leaders can "find" twenty eight million pounds or more for a posh do for very rich wonans seventy years as Queen it seems unable to find money help poor people.

Take Mr George Ian Stevenson, this eighty six year old man knocked down by a car spent four hours lying in the road in freezing conditions in the rain waiting for an ambulance and waiting and waiting, he died. His family are less than impressed by the response time.

Or we have the ninety four year old man who died in his driveway after also waiting four hours for an ambulance (his family dont want to be identified)  Then theres Mrs Helena Walker who was kept waiting eight hours for an ambulance before spending another eight hours on a trolley, this after a stroke.

Oh we dont have money for more ambulances or doctors, but we do have money to spend it on a lot of pomp and ceremony for a woman worth around six hundred million pounds who could have afforded to easily pay for it herself.

Frankly at a time of great strain and poverty, with prices rocketing, energy bills going skyward and the health service the government made such a fuss about during covid falling apart at the seams it occures to me maybe a politician with a few brain cells less interested in a kinghthood might have spent that twenty eight million on helping people who who really need helping.
