Pockets?

Pockets? Seriously, why are they so bad?
Pockets have been around for centuries, yet for some reason we still cant get them right.
I have jackets where the pocket is so badly designed you have to keep it zipped shut or everything falls out. Trousers with pockets so flimsy a small tissue will rip it to pieces.
Lets be honest we now carry more stuff than ever.
Decades ago people carried they wallet, cigarettes and matches and a house key.  Now we have mobile phone, house keys, car keys, cigarettes or those huge vaping machines, loads of change now we lost pound notes. It's heavier and things like phones are expensive. We have a phone costing a grand in a pocket that cost about 4p and is made of something rejected from a toilet roll company as too flimsy to wipe your arse with. Who though that was a good idea?  Why not use kevlar or something tough for Gods sake.
Twice I've resown a trouser pocket, twice the material is so poor it's just fallen apart again, and these weren't cheap trousers. And when I sew something it's stays sewed. (Ok it's not neat but hell it ain't coming apart)
So come on tailors, make pockets out of something decent for heavens sake.
