Tesco hot cross buns... WTF!
I bought a packet of hot cross buns from Tesco today, I'm quite partial to a buttered bun... or maybe a bit of bun with my butter.
Anyway as I was cutting the buns I noticed an odd smell, I sniffed the buns and there was a sort of what I thought to be cinnamon-ish smell. Still bung on half a pound of butter and off I go.... Then I start to eat one... Bloody Hell! Revolting! I try to figure out the taste but I can't put my finger on it. Back to the packet and it says hot cross buns, then I see the small print. Salted caramel and chocolate chip hot cross buns. WTF!!!!!!
Hot cross buns shouldn't have salted caramel or chocolate chips, a hot cross bun is supposed to be a hot cross bun, the recipe is well known.
The hot cross bun story goes back to around the 12th century when a monk making buns decided to put a cross on them to mark Good Friday.
The recipe then didn't include bloody salted caramel then and it shouldn't now. I hate to waste food but the two I had buttered went in the bin.
So what next Tesco, a cheese sandwich with pineapple? Or maybe a custard tart with blackberries?
I don't mind you making different flavors but don't sell then as something they are not, and those are not fucking hot cross buns.
Car and the MOT
Well my car needed an MOT this week, why it takes a garage 8 hours to do an MOT baffles me, years ago I used to wait for the 20 minutes or so it took to test it, now it seems you leave your car there and they get around to it later.
Still on the plus side it's done for another year, mind I did have to put a set of tyres on it first (they were getting a bit low).

Mythbusters fans... Good news and bad news....
Yes I have good and bad news for fans of the series Mythbusters....
First the good news, Mythbusters returned to the TV in Jan 2018.
The bad news is that Jamie and Adam who left in March 2016 have been replaced by Brian and Jon.
The series started to go downhill a few years back. The myths got more and more movie related. It went further downhill when Tori Kari and Grant left the show in 2014. Jamie and Adam made the last two series with just themselves as presenters.
The new series sort of carries on where the old series left off.... Except for one detail. Its catastrophically awful. The new presenters are trying to "be" Jamie and Adam, and that just doesn't work.
Seriously it's hard to find words to describe it, bad isn't even close, terrible sounds good but it's much worse than that.
The viewers comments are just hysterical. About 95% say the same thing, the presenters are bad and the shows worse, bring back Adam and Jamie.
So there you have it. Mythbusters is back... But not really, watch the reruns and give it a miss.
Waynes rating 0/10 (marginally better than setting yourself on fire)

Wallies walking in the road!!!!
Yet again I'm seeing load of idiots waking in the road alongside a perfectly good pavement. I do wonder what exactly is wrong mentally with these people.
Accidents are on the increase (hardly a surprise) yet people haven't got the brain power to step onto the pavement to avoid being squished by cars and lorries (squished, that's a lovely word, I must use it more often!).
This week alone I've lost count of old people (who should know better) just sauntering down the side of a busy road ignoring the pavement, indeed one old chap was wandering down the middle of a busy road too stupid or senile to get out of the way of the traffic.
So if anybody knows where I can get a set of the HUGE sharp spikes things that the cars in Death Race 2000 had please let me know. I feel like racking up some points.... and as Bruice used to say "points make prizes"!

Frightened of flying... you probably should be.
Frightened of flying... you probably should be.
Would you think in this computerized age with everyone in constant contact that an aircraft could take off from a runway while two tractors and a snow blower were still clearing the snow? Well the bad news is yes. It happened on the 23 Jan 2018 yesterday in fact.
Luckily nobody got hurt, but who knows next time?...
Or what about an aircraft taking off from an airport flying VFR (visual flight rules) while another is coming in to land IFR (instrument flight rules) land on the same runway in the opposite direction both under air traffic control?
They met 9 miles from the airport and got within a half mile of each other before the planes TCAS (anti collision system) warned both pilots, they both followed the TCAS instructions and turned away from each other.
Then the air traffic control which had it's radar set to a setting that wouldn't show the planes direction actually told one aircraft to turn back towards the other. Fortunately the crew followed the TCAS and a head on collision was avoided.
Who knows maybe your pilot will obey air traffic control and ignore his TCAS and you'll get whats pilots call the long drop....
