Ever wondered why theres so many true crime programs?

Ever wondered why theres so manytrue crime programs?  The answers simple. They are cheap!
You know the programs I mean, they follow a real life crime (usually a murder) they start off interviewing the parents or surviving family, then show the history of the victim and usully play up how talented or what a great mother/father they were before they were killed. Then go onto the court case if the killer was caught.
The sad part is although the family think the tv company care and want to see justice and their case used as a warning to others the real truth is the company is just exploiting the families and the story.
It's cheap tv. Just a small crew and a presenter, no sets to build, no locations to hire, no expensive movie props or vehicles to crash, no special effects. It costs fuck all to make.
Even worse is the way the familes are treated, the presenters like asking things like "tell me, how did you feel what you found your daughters mutilated body in the bath?"  How the hell do you think they felt you silly sod?  They were hardly jumping with bloody joy were they!
What kind of moron even asks a grieving parent a question like that, the answer is an exploiting tv presenter because seeing the family member upset and crying makes better tv, it makes it more evotive to the viewers and makes the company more money. Scew upsetting the family, lets make a few bucks!
