News headline on the BBC website today Russian airliner forced to land in open field. The true story is a Russian owned airline Airbus A300 crash landed after a hydraulic problem, The aircraft had a 170 people on board all survived and the aircraft looked intact. All in all a bloody good landing.
Note to BBC Airbus isnt Russian made. It's co-owned by the German-French-Spanish European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS), with an 80% interest, and Britain's BAE Systems, with 20%.
The headline gives the impression a dodgy Russian plane had to land in a field. Not a European made aircraft had a fault and the crew did an amazing job making a safe landing. If that had happened in the west the headline would be hero crew save 170 lives.
