Wildebeests have a pretty crap life at best.
Roaming majestically across the plain (courtesy of Fawlty Towers) they are attacked by lions and other animals.
Crossing rivers they make great sport for passing crocodiles, who just love a spot of wildebeest and chips for lunch, or even a wildebeest leg for nibbles with an aperitif at dinner parties.
Now theres a new sport in town, running them over with an airplane. Kichwa airport in Kenya is the chosen location. The plane of choice is the De Havilland canada DHC-8-200.
To add insult to injury the plane is owned by a company called Safari link.
The word Safari actually means to travel in Swahili. Something two wildebeests wont be doing ever again.
It's not quite clear what the wildebeests were doing on the runway at the time, roaming majestically is one thought, the other suggestion was they were waiting for a plane to fly across a local river to avoid the local croc gang, sadly now we'll never know the answer.
At this point there should be a sad faced picture of a group of wildebeests but they were all at the funeral so I couldn't get a shot.
