I was trimming my hair...

I was trimming my hair tonight (whats left of it) and frankly it's a bit of a pain.  You see I have one of those barbers clippers things and you have to plug it in.  Well of course there's no sockets in the bathroom (the easiest place to do it) so I have to roll out an extension lead, not a major issue but still a pain, and it means having a wire trailing across the landing... And this got me thinking...
It's the twenty first century, we've put man on the moon, we have aircraft that can reach mach 7 (briefly) we can reach the deepest parts of our ocean, and land rovers on Mars.  We even have cars powered by hydrogen.... But we still can't put an electric socket in a bathroom safely.
Yes, I know there's some moron somewhere who'll balance an electric fire on the end of the bath and fry themself when it falls in the bath, but frankly that's natures way of stopping them procreating and diluting the gene-pool any more. Darwins theory in action as it were.  Trouble is all the rest of us people with an IQ bigger than our shoe size are penalized because of the idiot few.
You'd think with all the high tech stuff we have there would be a way to put a socket safely in a bathroom.  So because of the risk of dropping an electric toaster in the bath, I have to run a cable across the landing as a trip hazard and I still have a set of electric clippers in the bathroom...
Besides I can't put a toaster on the edge of my bath.. I'd have to move the telly first.....

Here we go again!

Today I had to open a packet of frozen burgers, inside the box is a plastic bag made of something that makes kevlar look weak.  Seriously why does packing inside a box need to be indistructable yet my bin bags get broken by confetti?  Shouldn't bin bags be stronger?

Brexit

Well it's getting silly now.   Apparently if we leave the EU we're more at risk of terror attacks, all the jobs will go, your house will be worth 7p.  The rest of the world will not speak to us or sell us anything, nor will we get any intelligence.  The US President, the Germans, the French and anybody else who doesn't actually live in the UK has told us to stay in (If Obama thinks it's such a great idea why doesn't the US join the EU)  Whilst 250 million cowards running away from a distant war (and leaving their wife and children behind) don't care if we stay in or leave.  For some reason Britain is the place to go, that would be the money of course.
So whats the truth, well the answer is quite simple, all the countries will still trade with us, the intelligence sharing started long before we went into the EU, and we share a lot more their way than we get so it would be their loss if they stopped, beside all the countries outside the EU share with us anyway.
You house price isn't going to change much, why should it?  Or are house prices controlled by Germany now.  No is the answer to that, you sell your house for whatever you want and can get.
The scaremongering does make me wonder what exactly our leaders are personally getting out of the EU, they are making so much fuss about staying in (despite what the voters think) I wonder what part of the gravy train they are on.
We fought two wars not to be controlled by Germany, and we fought the French around 13 times since 1066 (I think) to stop them telling us what to do.  It's time we decided whats best for us and bollocks to the EU.

For goodness sake!!! (rant)

Seriously is it me or has the whole world gone properly bonkers while I was asleep?
I went to pick up my prescription today, there's a huge queue at the surgery, not helped by the receptionist chatting to all the people as they get to the window. Yes I know it's nice and friendly but there's a big queue waiting, some people probably missed their appointments just waiting to get to the bloody window.
Then I went into Morrisons (I really should know better by now)  Now I'm only grabbing a few things, shower gel, something for lunch, milk etc.
First I have to fight my way into the fucking shop!  The twats have blocked three quarters of the bloody entrance off with a bloke wrapping flowers, then they stacked boxes across a bit more, in the end I had to shout at a customer to get her out of the only bit of aisle left to wheel a trolley down.  Then I get to the counter for hot food, one person in front of me... Except she cant make her mind up what se wants so she starts asking the little girl (daughter?) who is with her, after what seems like weeks but was probably only 10 minutes I finally get served.
The next hurdle apart from trying to walk through a shop full of zombie brain donors was the checkout.  One old chap being served (and most of the checkouts closed)  Then the till operator starts packing the old chaps bag for him.  Fair enough if he cant do it himself, but my god this woman on the till was slow.  Honestly I've seen bomb disposal operators work quicker.  You'd swear she was packing a live 250 pound bomb that hasn't gone off, not a packet of cat food and a tin rice pudding.
Seriously she took fucking forever to pack his bag, the chap didn't have much shopping, only a few things, but it took longer to pack than my mothers big monthly shop.
What happened to the world, I remember going shopping years back and it never took this bloody long to do something simple.

Canned laughter and railway lines.

Canned laughter, I've mentioned it before but I saw a program last night and it reminded me of just how bad it can be.  Lets face it if yor program is so appallingly unfunny you need to add a recording of laughter to your studio audience your doing something wrong in the first place.  Secondly why add the hideous canned laughter in the wrong places if you must add it.  Some things are just not funny, someone saying hello and a huge burst of laughter doesn't make sense, it's not FUNNY!

Railway lines.  Heres a pic from last night.
Please don't play on the railway it's really dangerous, this is a siding and I'm allowed to be where I am, I also take great care theres no trains about and have someone with me to watch my back.
Do not try this on active main lines, no really don't do it!
