Finding bigfoot... the end

 Well it had to happen, despite what I thought was a new series (called series 10) it turns out it was two left over episodes being shown after the series was canceled.
 To be perfectly honest I'm amazed it lasted this long, 10 seasons and the closest they got was a few noises that could be anything and a few glimpse of something on thermal that again could be anything.
 The problem with the show was it was done badly from the start, not a proper researched scientific search, just a few people wandering about in the woods making noises.
 Even worse, to get some ideas they'd call a town meeting to ask the locals where to go, so that pretty much guaranteed some hoaxing knocks and calls.
 I've said before they way to do it properly is some ex-forces guys who know how to move quietly through woods and how and where to set up observation posts.
 If bigfoot is there and it's a large ape type animal it'll need a fair bit of food and water, to get that it'll have to move around, that means it's moving around for several hours a day.  Apes don't actually move around at night much, so it possible bigfoot hunts by day (if it's ape related) and most sightings occur during the day.
So you find an area where sighting have happened, look at where food and water sources are in that area, find obvious paths or areas of least resistance for a big animal to move through, and stake those out. Sit quietly well hidden and wait for it to come to you.
 The way to avoid seeing a bigfoot is to go crashing through the woods shouting and making a noise, hell even a bear will avoid people that do that.

Trains again

 Yes more trains. I'm not a trainspotter... honest guv!.  It's just when we get bored it's a quick and easy local place to go for an hour to walk off dinner.

Note some of these pics are taken on the lines. I'm allowed to be here and I still take great care, these are NOT the main lines and NOT in use while I'm there. Never fool around on the railway.

Ford... Oh FFS!!!

  I have to admit I've always been a bit of a Ford fanboy.  Over the years I've had loads. Two cortinas, a corsair, two escorts (one a van my fav)  two sierras, a transit (also great) and two feista company cars.
 Fords have always had "issues", the electrial systems were famous for lighting problems, the bulbholders were terrible, my transit finally ended up with the wires soldered to the bulbs because the holders never worked
 The other thing they were famous for was spare parts, due to Fords unique way of sourcing parts one year model might have six different distributor caps and four different headlamps. This was a pain in the arse when you needed a new part. For example my transit headlamps depended on what colour bumpers and the mirror shape to determine the correct ones, not the year and model like other make cars.
 Now sadly with the newer models Ford have moved on to the next stage of making life a bastard for owners.
 I'm unlucky enough to have a mondeo.  Nice enough car, as it's an estate it's bloody huge but hey, like all Fords it has a good heater. But good luck changing a headlamp bulb, easy enough, just remove the cover plate, the grill, take out some screws and remove the whole bloody headlamp fitting. Why FFS! just about every other car had a flap on the back of the headlamp unit. Open that and change the bulb, not dismantle half the fucking car to change a £2 bulb.
 Yesterday my battery started playing up, no problems, just get a new one...  except Ford has placed a 50 lb battery about as far back to the firewall as it can, and boxed it in so you have to take half the engine off to get the fucker out. Just reaching it is tricky unless you have arms like Guy the gorilla. Why even box it in? every other car I've had has a battery clamped onto a battery tray, you undo the cables, unscrew the bracket holding the battery in place and bingo job done. Not on my car, it took a mechanic 30 minutes to swap it.
 Even better when the battery goes you cant open the boot to get your tools, so if you have jump leads and a Ford, keep them on the passenger seat.
 The last part of Fords make life a bitch for owners is a real clever one. The radio stops because it needs a code, why?, it's built in, it cant be swopped to anything else, and the iceing on the fucking cake, the windows.... Yes the fucking windows.  Disconnect the battery and the windows forget how to work and have to be recallibrated!  FFS who thought that one up. Please if there is a God I want 5 minues alone with the person who thought that was clever, only 5 minutes... it'll be enough.. for me to "have a word in his shell like" just before I rip his head off.
 Seriously folks, how is this making things better?  In what way does hiding the battery make life easier for anybody???
 My next car wont be a Ford thats for sure.
