A few food pics shot on a Sigma 24-105mm art lens.

I go to a lot of places with public toilets. No, I'm not hanging about in them for fun, I'm getting older and need the loo more often.
Sadly I find them less than idea, in a lot of ways!
No matter where there are they share several "flaws". Most common is the condition. Flush not working, stinking dirty and all too often with no toilet paper.
Now frankly theres no need for this, anywhere that has toilets should at least clean then once a MONTH or so. Some look like they've never been cleaned.
Sadly posh hotels and pubs are often the worst strangly enough, you'd expect a higher standard, after all if they toilets are not cleaned, is the kitchen?
Another baffling feature especially in toilets at railway and bus stations is tiny toilets, at a place where you could reasonably expect the user to have luggage... yeah, forward thinking! Some are so small you almost have to stand on the toilet to close the door. How stupid is that? God help if you have a suitcase.
I honestly dont understand why a simple thing like a toilet seems to defeat a designer. I mean how useless a designer do you have to be to not make it big enough to walk into and close the door, without doing the tango around the bowl? I'm not a designer and I could do it.
So thats my take on public toilets, oh one last thought. When the pubs come out most public toilets are shuts, at the time a few hundred well "topped" up with liquid people are in the street. Then they wonder why people are pissing in doorways and bus stops.
I've mentioned a number of time the weird stuff that happens in my house. A little while ago I noticed a folder with several camera filters in it had gone missing. Now mising things happens a lot in my house, they usually turn up ages later in a weird place.
Anyway the filters I had searched the house for turned up in a box of flashguns. Now not only had I checked this box looking for these filters, but I'd had everything out of it last week (my off camera flash kit lives in there), 3 flashes and two off camera trigger set-ups, which I had been playing with.
Now nobody else would bother mucking about with these, indeed there's only me and my son here, and he's got better things to do than play silly buggers.
So yet again weird stuff is happening. What next I wonder?
Spotted this the other day, shot on my phone. Havent had time to really go shooting, been lots happening at home.
Like the picture I posted yesterday taken on an old Tamron film lens this one is on a different lens.
Canon 30d Tamron 135mm 2.5 lens wide open.
For those on a budget... so everybody these days, do you need expensive cameras and lens? I'd say no looking at these.
Canon 30d, Tamron adaptal2 lens manual focus. You could buy both of these for under £80 total looking at prices at time of posting.
Took these yesterday, only had the TZ80 compact on me, but I'll go back with a proper camera when I get time and better weather.
I've mentioned a good few time on here about the weird stuff that happens in my house, call it a poltergiest or spitits or whatever the hell is going on (maybe a bad choice of words?) Weird stuff just happens.
Today while washing in the bathroom (I was out of the bath and drying myself) I saw what looked like black smoke swirling around, only for a second ot two and it was gone. There was no smell of smoke or anything like that.
I really dont know if it was real or my brain playing tricks to be honest. Some of the stuff thats happend is real, I've clearly seen it and so has my son, this was so fleeting it's hard to be sure. Oh well time will tell.
Well guess who is a genious then.... yeah. not me! I spent hours yeasterday cleaning my Canon 5d4 kit, charged all the batteries, formatted all the cards. Then I went out and shot these pictures...... ON MY PHONE FFS!
Theres been a number of accident reports released recently into fatal accidents in various countries. Sadly all too often these involve private pilots carrying paying passengers, something they are not allowed to do normally.
It's showing a pattern. All too often the pilot has not completed training in instrument flying,(in some cases they had none) flying in bad weather or night. In many cases they cant operate the controls of the auto pilot or manage the fuel system properly.
Some have out of date licences (so they shouldnt be flying at all) or very little or no experience in the aircraft they are trying to fly. Some only have a few hours solo without an instructor.
Some of the aircraft frankly should have been sold for scrap, with lots of various faults known to the pilot, who then takes paying passenges (in some cases) or family friends on their last flight.
Even sadder in several of these cases the passengers have noticed the state of the aircraft before taking off and texted friends worried, yet they still boarded.... and died.
The final factor in this all too common occurance is the pilots being on medication of some sort or other, usually unofficially.
Being serious this is a real problem both here and the US. Theres been a LOT of accidents, some high profile over the years. A courious fact while the DVLA here in the UK will follow up if you dont renew your driving licence, the CAA doesnt seem to if you fail to renew your pilots licence.... very odd.
So the take away from this? If your offered a flight, look at the plane and talk to the pilot, ask them a few tricky questions, see if they are impared. If the plane has issues, or the pilot is away with the fairies, walk away. And report it, you might save someone elses life.
