some more flowers.
Waynes photo blog.
Haven't posted these ones (I think) They are from the gardens a few weeks back, I haven't got anything newer to put up.
I say maybe because I could hardly do a worst job than the so called designers we have now!
I've mentioned shampoo bottles before, designed to stand up only on a billiard table flat surface, strangly almost never found around a bath or shower. Lets make the bottle top heavy someone thought, that'll make life akward for joe public.
Then theres household electrial fittings. Why put the shower pull cord right next to the light pull cord? Theres a whole bathroom to put it somewhere else. Celling lights, almost always never in the centre of the celling where it needs to be.
My favorite is shoes.... Yes shoes! It's hard to believe shoes could be badly designed, after all they've been around for ages.... Well at least since 7000 BC where the earliest recorded sandals were dated, the leather basic design go back to around 1200 BC, and the shoe as we know it has been around since the 17th century. Yet after all this time they still haven't got it right! Take my shoes/boots, they always fail in the same place because of a line of weakness in the tread pattern, easy enough to design out but they dont.
Then theres the laces! How hard is it to get the shoe lace right, it's a piece of sting for goodness sake, yet for reasons best known to themselves my shoes always come with really short laces, just about to tie, while my boots on the other hand have laces long enough to go fishing, or absail off a cliff. Seriously why? How hard is it to get that right? Why do I need 12 inches of spare lace on my boots whan they are tied, am I supposed to lace them up my legs like the Romans? They catch on every brambles, and worse your going to end up treading on the end and either triping yourself up or pulling the lace undone. That or tie seven knots in the bloody things!
Designers! My cat could do a better job... and I dont even have a cat!
Well the Porthcawl Elvis weekend was a bit sad today, quietest I've ever seen it. Got these pics anyway.
Seriously what is it with computers? Last night I shut down a computer before I went out, this morning the bastard wont start, it's had a heart attack overnight.
I mean WTF! How?, it's been switched off all night, I was carefull to shut it down properly before I went to the pub, yet this morning it's decide to be missing a few bits of windoze (thats how I spell it) I'm going to go over to Mac if this nonsence keeps up.
Ok I managed to sort it out but now I'm wondering if it's safe to shut the sod down.
Bloody computers!
While at the Pontpool and Bleanavon railway the other day the subject of motion blur came up, So here's my version... Actually it's a cheat, done in photoshop.
Heres a few shots from this years steam fayre at the pontypool and blaenavon railway. More to come when I get around to the editing.
