Flying? Think about it...
You board a nice shiny 11 year old aircraft run by a national carrier, on board are 102 other people, your aircraft takes off, reaches about 30 and falls back to the ground destroying the plane and seriously injuring 14 of the passengers.
What could have gone wrong? Well wind shear for one thing. Then theres the minor detail the pilot flying isn't licenced for that type of aircraft, and he has only had simulator training, yet he is doing the takeoff. The captain isn't qualified to instruct, but is letting an observer fly the plane during a crutial stage of the flight.
Could never happen you say... Ask the passengers on Aeromexico Connect on the 31 July 2018, or any of the staff at Guadalupe Victoria International Airport. They'll tell you different...

Rhossili wander
I went down Rhossili in the Gower yesterday party for some exercise, partly to test a micro camping stove and pot thing that fits in my camera bag.
Heres a few pics (the stove works fine)

Ford electrics Feb 18 update
Yes the bloody electrics are playing silly sod again. Why always Ford? Honestly every one I've had has the same issues.
This time it was a brake light AGAIN (bugger me I'm buying bulbs in party packs now) so as it's the off side it's an easy change. The near side of course is harder for no good reason other than Ford are twats.
After swapping the bulb we check all is good and discover one of my six rear side lights is out. Now why it has six in the first place it a good question. Ask Ford?, every other car I've had just has one each side, not three. But being an estate means I have another 2 on the tailgate each side.
Amazingly Ford made a huge blunder here, you can get at both side easily, obviously their fuck you about dept was closed the day they designed the tailgate!
On inspection it turn our corrosion is the problem here, the "brass" contact has rusted... so a bit of bent tin then. I cleaned this up and all working again... well it may even make next week before another bulb goes......

Socks the new Houdini!
I was opening a packet of new socks this morning and the penny dropped. socks are the new Houdini.
We all know socks vanish. They escape from the washing machine, they vanish off the line. Even leaving them tucked in your shoes at night is asking for one to have gone "AWOL" in the morning. Most of us wonder where the bloody hell a sock went overnight but forget it later.
Well this morning opening a new packet I realized even the sock manufactures know the truth, that socks "escape" back to planet sock... or wherever they hell they go.
What made me realize was the fact the socks were in a cardboard box (sealed), inside that the 5 pairs (why 5 theres 7 days in a week?) each pair had another cardboard tab holding them together with a plastic clip thing. To make sure they didn't escape in transit then then sewed each pair together with what appears to be unbreakable fishing line.
How long have sock makers been keeping the secret of sock escapes from us???
Is it a conspiricy?
Do the sock sneak home to the manufactures to be resold?
Will we every learn the turth of where they go.
Will I stop taking the piss..... No.
But seriously where the fuck do socks go???

MOT time again...
Well it's been MOT time again, the usual annual mess about where you take your car to the garage for them to poke it with sharpened sticks and pronounce it dead.
I don't mind the taking it part it's the bloody time my garage takes. An MOT should take about 45 minutes, last year it took all day (pretty much) this year they got slower. The best part of two days, Ok I made the mistake of getting an oil change while it was there (my bad) I should have reaslised that would add a day.
Next time I might get new wiper blades... that should add a week or two!
